An East Ham man was been left with partial memory loss after being attacked.

Four weeks on from the “seemingly unprovoked” attack in Stanford-le-Hope, detectives are no nearer to identifying the motive or the perpetrators.

Jason Murphy, 24, had been walking along Church Hill towards the railway station when he was attacked by two men who had got out of a Ford Focus.

He was punched to the ground then his assailants returned to the car.

The victim discharged himself from hospital but was readmitted to the Royal London Hospital two days later after his head injury worsened.

He is currently in a stable condition but is suffering from memory loss.

n Information to Grays police station on 101.
