A 16-year-old boy was rushed to hospital by air ambulance after being stabbed in broad daylight.

Police cordoned off a section of Plashet Road, Upton Park, between Lucas Avenue and Thorngrove Road after being called there just before 3.30pm.

The teenager was stabbed in the chest and leg but his injuries are not said to be life-threatening.

A spokeswoman for London Ambulance Service said: “We sent an ambulance crew, a first responder in a car and an incident response officer to the scene, with the first of our medics arriving in four minutes.

“London’s Air Ambulance was also dispatched to the scene.

“We treated a male patient at the scene who was taken to hospital as a priority.”

No arrests have been made.
