The concerned commuter first emailed the Royal Mail in July, when he was told it would be sorted within 12 weeks, but yet still nothing has been done about the red box in Crownfield Road, Stratford.

Rupert has made this request multiple times and the Royal Mail told the Recorder that it was scheduled to be completed by the end of March.

“It is disappointing that we are still waiting for the paint job to progress,” he explained.

“We deserve an explanation, this is our neighbourhood.”

He travels past the road every day and just wants the delivery service to take action, instead of promising it will be done, when it never is.

“The postbox looks awful and spoilsthe area,” Rupert said.

“What is the hold up.”

A Royal Mail spokeswoman said: “Royal Mail apologises that the post box has not been painted in Crownfield Road, Stratford.

“This has been due to a delay in removing the associated pouch box.

“The removal of the pouch has now been arranged and the box will be painted in the next few weeks.”
