Newham charity Community Links were special guests at the opening of a care facility for learning disabilities on Thursday.
Sahara Homes, a housing association providing residential care to people with learning disabilites, invited Community Links co-founder Kevin Jenkins to an open day at Parkside Homes, one of their facilities in Longbridge Road, Barking.
Representatives from Sahara Homes presented Community Links, based in Barking Road, with a donation for �10,000 for their inclusion work with the disabled.
The afternoon event also marked the opening of the Jean Brown Arena which was commemorated with the woman herself cutting an enormous cake with her husband Terence.
