If the Avengers aren’t out in force this weekend, you can bet Batman and Superman will be as the Uk’s biggest comic convention touches down at the ExCel.

While they might not be the real deal – though some of the costumes are genuinely brilliant – fans will be able to see some of their favourite TV and movie stars as well as consuming their body weight in all things geek.

Special guests will include Happy Days star Henry Winkler, better known as The Fonz, and Robert Llewellyn who played Kryten in popular sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf.

The event will run over three days. It opens on Friday May 23 from 2pm to 7pm and will be run all day Saturday and Sunday.

It follows hot on the heels of the London Super Comic Convention which stormed the ExCel, Newham, in March.
