This colourful 100m long mural is set to brighten things up for visitors to Newham University Hospital.
Work has started on constructing the artwork, which is being placed along Glen Road, Plaistow.
It is the result of a community project involving Barts Health NHS Trust, which runs the hospital, Newham Council and independent resident-led community organisation Plaistow South Big Local.
The project involves around 75 ply boards, each of which are eight feet tall, and display a variety of images depicting aspects of the area’s history, health, education and diversity.
It is set to be formally unveiled at a special ceremony in September.
