Christmas Day brought an extra special present for these families – a new baby.
Janet Ali was born just 24 minutes into December 25 at Newham University Hospital, weighing 6lb 6 (2.99kg).
She is the first child for Asif and Saba Ali, of High Street North, Manor Park, who described their midwife as “amazing.”
Alexandrli Filipcilic and Maria Bostangica welcomed their baby, also called Alexandrli, into the world at 9.52am.
The couple have now returned home to Telham Road, East Ham with their 8lb 9 (4.07kg) son, who is their first child.
Mary Olusile, head of midwifery at the hospital, said: “Congratulations to parents on their new arrivals across all our birthing facilities; Barking Community Birth Centre, Newham Hospital delivery suite and birthing centre as well as our home birth team.
“Christmas is a special time when we all make an extra effort to appreciate our family and friends and a new baby is a very special extra reason for everyone to celebrate.”
