Stratford’s East Village, which will be the Athletes’ Village this summer, hosted its first dinner party with celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo and GB hockey goalkeeper Simon Mason.
After an aperitif and stunning views across the Olympic Park, they and guests were served a sumptuous six-course Italian feast devised and mastered by Gino.
They devoured delights including beef tartare with a balsamic vinegar reduction and quail eggs, cream of cannellini beans and white Alba truffles and devilishly good dark chocolate tartufo ice cream.
After the Games, East Village will be home to 6,000 Londoners.
