Age Concern Newham has celebrated its rebranding as Age UK Newham.

A NEW era has dawned at Age Concern Newham, which has changed its name to Age UK Newham. The rebranding follows the merger of national charities Age Concern and Help the Aged.

Sue McCarthy, chief executive of Age UK Newham, Tom Wright, chief executive of Age UK, and Pat Dedman, chair of Age UK Newham, cut a cake to mark the charity’s relaunch during its annual general meeting at its office in Barking Road on Friday.

Ms McCarthy said: “We are delighted to be part of the new Age UK family.

“Working closely with the national charity will mean we can continue and improve the great work we already do for people in later life in Newham.”
