Care for a dog fleeing a violent home

PUBLISHED: 15:00 22 September 2012

Animal welfare charity Dogs Trust are looking for volunteers to foster dogs fleeing violent homes.

Newham’s Green Party Member of European Parliament Jean Lambert visited the charity’s head office to support their Freedom Project on Friday which provides free care for dogs belonging to families seeking refuge from domestic violence who cannot look after them in temporary accommodation.

Ms Lambert said: “The service cannot exist without the wonderful support of volunteer foster carers, and I would urge Londoners to consider supporting the Project by signing up to become foster carers if possible.”
