A block of Canning Town apartments have won a housebuilding industry award.
Vermillion, which features 271 homes on 21 storeys, received a bronze award in the Best Partnership Scheme category at the What House? Awards.
The development was delivered jointly by the London Borough of Newham and English Cities Fund and designed by architecture firm CZWG.
It was praised for its sustainability and design as well as for the benefits it brings to the area.
The building is the first part of the Rathbone Market regeneration, which will see further homes, community facilities and a new market square being built.
It is part of a £3.6 billion investment into building affordable homes in Canning Town and Custom House.
Cllr Conor McAuley, executive member for regeneration and strategic planning at Newham Council, said: “The redevelopment of Rathbone Market has been a big success and demonstrates what can be achieved when the public and private sector work together.”
