Community Links is set to receive a £38,000 grant from betting company Paddy Power.
The company has made a three year commitment to supporting the charity, with the second round of money to be used specifically for adult enterprise.
It will help people in east London get back into work or establish their own businesses by providing them with the necessary skills, confidence and networks.
Geraldine Blake, the charity’s CEO, said: “Community Links’ unique position of being embedded in the community enables us to reach
and be trusted by those hardest to reach, like the long-term unemployed.
“Following significant cuts in government funding, we are hugely grateful to organisations like Paddy Power, whose funding allows us to continue this vital work and ensures that local people are not excluded from the benefits of Newham’s regeneration.”
The donation is part of Paddy Power’s community investment programme, which has given over £110,000 to Community Links in recent years.
Dan Taylor, managing director of retail, said: “We are proud to serve customers in the Newham community and of the investment and jobs our shops bring to the high street.
“Our wider community investment programme is about helping others to achieve their goals and we are delighted that the partnership with
Community Links is helping us to do so.”
