A new cafe, complete with outdoor seating, is set to come to Westfield Stratford City.

Planning permission has been granted for a retail unit and associated external seating to be built within the central paved area of The Street.

It will be located on the boundary of the Southern Boulevard and Chestnut Plaza on a pitch which is currently used by pop-up kiosks.

The application was submitted by Colicci, a chain that focuses on providing ice cream and coffee.

The kiosk will take up 30 sq m of space, which will have glass sides and a sculptural canopy roof which takes inspiration from the London Aquatics Centre and the Lee Valley VeloPark.

The chain, which operates in a number of parks across London, has also been granted a further 20 sq m to be used for the outdoor seating area.
