KIM Bromley-Derry will be Newham Council’s new Chief Executive, subject to Town Hall approval.
He has been covering the post since July when Joe Duckworth left.
The appointment is expected to be ratified at full council on December 6. Mr Bromley-Derry, 49, joined Newham at the end of 2007 as Executive Director for Children and Young People’s Services.
Mayor of Newham Sir Robin Wales said: “I look forward to working with Kim during what will be a very difficult time for the authority in the face of spending cuts and maintaining essential services.
“He possesses all the right leadership, strategic and operational skills. He has an impressive record in delivering high quality services, particularly in the area of children and young people. He knows Newham. He knows the people and he will drive forward our ambitions for the 2012 Games and beyond.”
