For Peter and Paula Imafidon, collecting their GCSE results on Thursday was like second nature.

The twins, 15, have passed an incredible 30 exams – not combined, but each.

The Eastlea Community School pupils passed their first GCSE aged six and a year later became the youngest people ever to pass an A-level maths exam.

The record-breaking duo have had 60 sixth form offers from across the country, having started at the Pretoria Road school aged just nine.

They took the majority of their subjects along with their classmates this summer, but the twins also study at Excellence in Education, which helped them to pass even more exams, many of them at A* grade.

Peter, who lives in Waltham Forest, praised the programme, which is based at Sarah Bonnell School.

He said: “The mentorship is second to none in scholarship, sports or music.”

Paula added: “I wish everyone has access to this programme.”

Despite the hard work required to study for so many exams, Paula and Peter have found the time to take music lessons and play sport.

They even carried the Olympic torch ahead of the London 2012 games.
