Thousands of families will be among the first to run on the Olympic Stadium’s brand new track in the summer and Olympic great Brendan Foster is urging people to sign up.

The Family Run, part of the Great Newham London Run events being held in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Sunday July 17, will be among the first to use the new surface.

The 2k route starts on the South Lawn and finishes in the Stadium to cross the same finish line that saw Mo Farah, Jess Ennis-Hill and Usain Bolt win Gold in 2012.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for families to run in the footsteps of the legends that lit up the golden summer of 2012,” said Brendan, a former Olympic long distance runner. “Parents are great role models for their children, and what better way to enjoy being active together than by sharing this golden moment.”
