A video shows hordes of shoppers being evacuated from the Westfield shopping centre this evening as the fire doors came down.

It’s unclear what has happened at the Stratford leisure spot, but at 8.20pm London Fire Brigade confirmed that they had not been called there today.

At 8.36pm a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said they were nto attending the scene either.

Shoppers described seeing people fleeing the food court with their plates of food.

The centre has since reopened.
