DETECTIVES are still questioning a man after a 28-year-old male sustained life-threatening injuries in a fall.

The 28-year-old, who has not been identified, fell from the second-floor balcony of a block of flats in Upper Road, Plaistow just before 9.30am yesterday morning. He was taken to a hospital in east London by air ambulance where his condition was described as “critical” this morning.

Police and paramedics attended the scene which was cordoned off for several hours while officers carried out door-to-door inquiries to find out the circumstances behind the incident.

A spokesman for Newham police said a man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in custody.
