A MAN was cut from his car after it was involved in a road accident in Forest Gate this morning.

His vehicle was involved in an accident with another car on Romford Road at around 8am.

Firefighters from Stratford cut the roof from the wrecked vehicle to free the driver.

He was immobilised using a neck collar and spinal board by ambulance crews, before being taken to hospital.

He is believed to have suffered a broken arm.

The crash caused lengthy tailbacks on surrounding roads, including Woodgrange Road and Green Street.

In a separate incident around 20 minutes later, also in Romford Road, Forest Gate, a motorcyclist came off his bike, but was not seriously injured.
