Investment by the Mayor of London will be concentrated around the Royal Docks and the Olympic fringe in the next two years, according to plans released by the London Development Agency.

In a consultation document on its investment strategy for 2011/12, the Agency said Boris Johnson’s regeneration efforts would focus on this area of east London.

The report states: “The Olympics has been a catalyst for regeneration in the Thames Gateway and we will build on this to deliver the homes, business spaces and jobs that London needs.”

“As one of London’s most significant growth areas, the Thames Gateway and Lower Lea Valley and particularly the Royal Docks and Olympic Fringe have enormous potential to provide the homes, workplaces and public spaces that London will need to maintain its place as a world class city.”

The deadline for responses to consultation is November 10.
