SOME flights taking off from London City Airport have been delayed due to a two-day strike by UK Border Agency workers that started today.

Employees manning passport control are taking part in the industrial action following proposed changes to shift patterns which workers fear could lead to job losses.

The Silvertown airport said in a statement: “To assist a smooth transit passengers are requested to have their documents ready before arriving at the desks.

“We wish to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.”
