Twenty firefighters battled for an hour to bring a blaze in a derelict tyre scrap yard on Earlham Grove in Forest Gate under control yesterday evening.
Part of an electrical sub station and the outside fence were damaged.
The Brigade was called at around 6.20pm with fire crews from Leytonstone and Stratford at the scene alerted.
