Get involved in local charity work by joining a new fundraising group in Newham.

Marie Curie Cancer Care are looking for volunteers to meet once a month in Stratford to organise charity events to support nurses who look after terminally ill patients in their homes and give emotional help to families.

A chairperson, secretary, treasurer and group members are needed to raise money locally for national campaigns such as the Great Daffodil Appeal, and the Blooming Great Tea Party while coming up with ideas for events of their own such as quiz nights and car boot sales.

In Newham last year, there were 11 Marie Curie nurses providing 6,867 hours of care to 61 patients.
