Primary school pupils have been bringing in their toys and dressing up in pyjamas - all in the name of charity.

Children and their families at North Beckton Primary School, Harrier Way, showed off their giving sides with a host of activities over two weeks to help those less fortunate.

Year 2 students provided new toys, presents and hygiene items for the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child appeal.

In addition, the young helpers also supported a clean-up day on the nearby Greenway while everyone kept their sleepwear on for a ‘Spots and Pyjamas’ day for Children in Need.

Acting headteacher Alison Helm said: “It makes me incredibly proud to see how much the children and their families want to help and support those less fortunate than themselves.

“Although times are quite difficult for lots of families at the moment, it is humbling to see the children thinking about other peoples’ needs, ahead of their own.”
