Scones and strawberries were on the table for volunteers at Richard House Children’s Hospice.
The contribution of the 150 people who give up their time to help the Beckton-based charity has been recognised as part of Volunteers’ Week, which began on Monday and runs until tomorrow.
Volunteers at the six charity shops, as well as at the hospice itself, were treated to a cream tea with all the trimmings as a reward for their contribution, and presented with certificates of thanks.
Rachel Power, deputy chief executive of Richard House, said: “The contribution that our volunteers make is absolutely vital in providing the range and quality of services we do to families.
“We are lucky to have so many dedicated, friendly volunteers and it was fantastic to be able to celebrate their contribution during Volunteers’ Week.”
