Busy businessmen will get the chance to sleep off the excesses of The City today as a double bed is donated to the lunch hour rush at Spitalfields Market.

It will be placed in the City hotspot between 11.30am and 2pm. It will be ample enough to offer support to likes of London’s hedge fund managers, bankers and lawyers all at the same time.

The bed has been donated by Richard House Children’s Hospice to promote its forthcoming Sleep Walk on May 26. Richard House is the closest children’s hospice to the heart of the City of London and models from the charity will be dressed in pyjamas and handing out flyers to promote their event. The Sleep Walk will see hundreds of supporters walking in pyjamas from London City Airport to Canary Wharf and back at the stroke of midnight.

The bed will be by the edge of the market in Brushfield Street. Organsisers are expecting a flurry of sleepy businessmen to form an orderly queue from about 11.45am.
