A Beckton motor vehicle training college is set to benefit from a new partnership with a local car business.

Dagenham Motors, based on Plaistow Road, Plaistow has donated a spare vehicle to motor vehicle college Beckton Activities Centre to help develop their training programme.

The vehicle, a Ford Escort, will be used by the college to help students get first hand experience in motor vehicle maintenance and repair.

James Lindsay, Sales Manager at Dagenham Motors, said: “As a local business we feel it is important for us to contribute to the community, which is why we want to support our local colleges and learning centres.

The students currently studying for motor vehicle qualifications are the service technicians of the future and we want them to have the best training possible.”

Peter Marchant of Beckton Activities Centre said: “We would like to say a big thank you to Dagenham Motors for donating this vehicle to us. The car will be invaluable to the learning and development of our students. There is no alternative to first hand direct experience of vehicle maintenance and repair.”
