A group of Brownies who have been celebrating their organisation’s centenary brought their festivities to an end with a fun packed party.
The Beckton Brownies, like many of their colleagues up and down the country, have been taking part in a varierty of activities as part of the Big Brownie Birthday. Their celebrations culminated with a disco at the Conservative Club in East Ham.
Brown Owl Kathy Thomas, who has run the group for 21 years, said: “We would like to thank the club for letting us have the hall for our disco. We decided to have the party to end the Big Brownie Birthday. We have had a fantastic time this year as we have been to the local gym, the Crystal Palace Maze, bowling, Pets at Home.” The girls also had a trip on the Emirates Line.
Kathy said although they are now closed for the summer, the Beckton Brownies, which also celebrated their 25th anniversary this month, will resume in September.
