A bail dodger arrested in a store car-park found to have drugs and a concealed knife has been sentenced to six weeks in a young offenders’ institution.
Tony Beaumont, a 20-year-old from Romford Road in Manor Park in east London, was spotted at Halford’s car-park in Ilford having skipped bail from a court appearance.
He was found to be carrying a small, sharply-pointed kitchen knife and a quantity of cannabis which contravened the 1971 Misuse of Drugs Act.
Beaumont pleaded guilty to both charges when he appeared before Barkingside magistrates. He also admitted failing to surrender to custody while on bail for criminal proceedings last August.
