Stratford resident Michelle Wright has been named a Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year for founding a company that helps social enterprises and charities fundraise more effectively.

Over two years, Michelle has helped raise over £3 million and around £250,000 a month for charitable causes which has been recognised with a Future 100 Award.

Michelle co-founded Cause4 in 2009 which helps generate income for charities and set up a new charity, The Philanthropy Foundation, to help individuals who want to raise money for good causes more effectively.

Nick Gandon, co-founder and Director of Cause4, said, “I am delighted that Michelle’s contribution to the business and charitable sectors has been acknowledged.

“She is a formidable woman, highly-driven with a remarkable work ethic. She has an old head on young shoulders and is highly intuitive. I am very proud that she and Cause4 have been recognized.”

The awards were lauched in 2008 to recognise young entrepreneurs running businesses which address people, planet and profit.
