The aviation minister has visited London City Airport for a behind the scenes tour to find out how it operates on a daily basis.

Baroness Sugg met staff at the Royal Docks airport, including CEO Robert Sinclair, and saw the areas of King George V Dock that will be transformed as part of the £480m expansion programme.

She was also able to hear how the government’s aviation strategy priorities are being pursued, including improving accessibility and making the airport more sustainable.

Baroness Sugg said: “London City Airport’s development programme places passengers at its core, replicating one of the key objectives of the government’s aviation strategy.

“With the introduction of new routes, electric vehicle charging points and improved accessibility at the airport, passengers are set to see significant benefits and an even better experience when they fly.”
