Apple crumble was voted favourite school pudding in a social media campaign celebrating children returning to lessons despite illness.

Richard House Children’s Hospice in Beckton organised the online poll as part of a Back to School campaign, celebrating the children with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses it helped back into education this September.

More than 100 people from across the country voted on the Facebook page of London’s oldest children’s hospice at Richard House Drive.

Apple crumble received over a third of the votes. Chocolate fudge cake came second with bread and butter pudding and jam roly poly close behind.

The campaign also saw the hospice sharing stories of children who have overcome adversity to attend school.
