A passing motorist captured the scene of a three-car crash, including two black cabs, which left one person in hospital.

The footage was taken on the A13 eastbound last night near the Beckton Roundabout junction shortly after 8pm.

It showed a silver car with the top sliced off next to two black taxis as emergency services worked to review the scene.

A man had already been taken to hospital earlier. His injuries are said to be non life-threatening.

The crash closed the A13 eastbound with queues tailing back to Prince Regent Lane and beyond, according to traffic reports.

Uber drive and Twitter user@uberukdriver stopped to filmed the footage from the westbound side of the A13.

He said: “My initial reaction was whoever was in the silver car must have got hit bad as the top of the car was missing. Hope they made it through.”

The collision follows a seven-car crash on the A13 less than two weeks ago in which two people had to be cut free from their cars.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan police confirmed that they were called to a road traffic collision just before 7.30pm and one man had been taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

No arrests were made. The road has since reopened with normal service resuming.
