Four students from the first cohort at the London Academy of Excellence in Stratford have achieved coveted Oxbridge places.
Pupils attending the first sixth form free school in England achieved an A* to B pass rate of 71 per cent and an A* to A pass rate of 43 per cent.
At least 68 of sixth formers have secured places at Russell Group universities.
High achievers include Charlie Hession, who received three A*s and an A and has accepted at place at Imperial College to study medicine, and Mohammed Moallim, who achieved three A*s and a grade 1 STEP, and has received a place to study mathematics and physics at Warwick.
Set up by eight leading independent schools, including Eton, Highgate, Brighton, Forest, City and Caterham, two years ago, the academy has also been well supported by HSBC.
