WHEN Dr. Paul Thind departed on flight LX457 to Zurich at 12.45 yesterday he became London City Airport 30 millionth passenger.

To mark the milestone the Royal Docks-based airport and Swiss International Airlines hosted a celebration in the gate lounge for all passengers travelling on the flight.

While the lucky doctor received a special treat of a bottle of champagne, along with a pair of return business class tickets to Switzerland, courtesy of the airline.

Richard Gooding OBE, Chief Executive of LCY said: “Reaching the 30 million mark is a significant milestone for the Airport which opened in 1992.”

Gregor Koncilja, SWISS UK and Ireland Country Manager called it an incredible achievement for London City.
