Shocking racist abuse towards an A&E nurse in east London was broadcast as part of a documentary series on life in UK casualty units.
The incident featured in the first episode of the new series of A+E After Dark on Newham, Belfast, and Norwich in the seventh series on 5STAR, which follows the night shifts of NHS emergency staff.
A nurse in Newham is subjected to racist abuse during a night shift, one of several harrowing incidents captured on camera.
The return of the series comes as NHS England reports a rise in violence against staff, with almost 15 per cent of workers experiencing physical attacks in the past year.

Haseeb Ramzan, security team leader at Newham Hospital, said: "I don't believe there's been a single night shift where there hasn't been an incident of violence and aggression toward our staff.
"Our teams come to work to care for people at their most vulnerable, and they deserve to feel safe while doing so.
"That's why we take immediate action to better protect our staff and ensure a respectful environment for everyone."
Reports of unwanted sexual behaviour also reached record levels, affecting nearly one in three ambulance workers, while nine per cent of staff reported discrimination – the highest figure yet recorded.
A+E After Dark highlights the growing dangers facing emergency teams, especially at night.
Nationally, attacks on A&E staff have nearly doubled in five years, with a nurse now assaulted every hour.
The series continues to document major trauma cases, cardiac arrests, and confrontations in waiting rooms.
Each episode captures the pressure, exhaustion, and relentless dedication of frontline teams.
The episode also features efforts to save both a stabbing victim and the attacker at a hospital in Norwich.
Later episodes in the series show an intoxicated patient launching into a discriminatory outburst in Belfast.
Other emergencies include cardiac arrests, car accidents, and serious allergic reactions.
A+E After Dark aired on 5 Star at 9pm on Thursday 2 April and is available to stream on My5.
The series can also be followed on social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
