The McDonald’s restaurant in Forest Gate could be set to open around the clock.

A planning application to introduce 24 hour opening at the Romford Road fast food restaurant has been submitted to Newham Council for consideration.

The attached drive through is already open 24 hours a day but the restaurant is only licensed to be open from 7am to 11pm on Mondays to Saturdays and 8am to 10.30pm on Sundays and Bank holidays.

In a planning statement submitted to the council, planning consultants Joshua Simons and Associates Ltd note that the site experiences a “relatively high level of background noise” due to traffic and so it is not expected that a change to opening hours will create a significant increase in noise.

The extended opening hours would also be applicable on bank holidays, if approved.
