Two teenage girls have been arrested after an alleged racially aggravated assault on the Elizabeth line.

British Transport Police said that the incident took place on a train travelling towards Paddington station at around 10pm on October 29.

A 20-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted while on the train.

Police have now confirmed that two teenage girls have been arrested in connection to the incident.

Both are aged 14 – one is from Stratford and the other is from Forest Gate.

Police said that the girls were in police custody on Wednesday evening (November 1).
