A man from Newham has been charged with terror offences.
Shafi Saleem, 32, was charged on February 15 with three offences; an offence under section 4A of the Public Order Act 1986, the breach of a part 4 notification requirement under the Counter Terrorism Act 2008, and disseminating a terrorist publication.
He was arrested the day before, on February 14, at Heathrow Airport after landing on the UK on a flight from Pakistan.

His arrest followed an investigation by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command, and he was taken to a south London police station where he was subsequently charged.
Saleem was remanded in custody and was due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today (February 16).
