Head coach Schmidt said: "First and foremost I'm really proud of our guys and the effort on both sides of the ball - we know we had been underperforming going into this.

"Coming off the FIBA break we really dove into a lot of things and kind of had a real training camp after a unique pre-season having five guys play EuroBasket, so we didn't really get a chance to build from scratch.

"For good, better or indifferent, we decided this was the best time to do it and it really showed. Our guys did a really good job of putting things together on both ends - on the offence sharing the ball, we had 27 assists which is a season high for us, and then defensively I'm just really proud of the effort from everybody that came into the game and contributed."
