NHS trade unions have suspended industrial action due to take place across London on Thursday.
A 24-hour ambulance service shutdown and a 12-hour strike in other NHS services was scheduled at major hospitals across the country, including Queen’s in Rom Valley Way, Romford.
However, unions including UNISON, GMB, Unite and the Royal College of Midwives have suspended action and will consult their members over a new pay deal.
UNISON head of health Christina McAnea said: “This isn’t a great offer but it addresses some of the key concerns unions have about low pay in the NHS.
“In the interest of patients’ safety unions will now consult members.”
