BEAT-BOXING came to Plaistow on Thursday when Bellatrix and the Boxettes made an appearance at Lister School.
The five-strong female band – made up of world champion beatboxer Bellatrix and singers Neo, Yvette, Harriet and Alyusha – performed for pupils from the eight schools that make up the E13 Learning Community.
The 60 youngsters then had a go at using their voices to provide a drum beat to songs during workshops led by the group.
The end product was a collaborative show for parents and family held at the school in St Mary’s Road’s new Agora gathering place.
“This was a great opportunity for students to make music with a world-class ensemble”, said Dawn Parsons, Projects Co-ordinator for the E13 Learning Community.
