One of the main pedestrian routes into the Olympic Park has been given a spruce-up by volunteers.
Workers from energy distribution company UK Power Networks joined members of conservation group London Wildlife Trust to give a makeover to the East Ham section of the Greenway last week.
Claire Byrd, UK Power Networks senior media manager, said: “We are all keen to improve the environment in this part of London, particularly as this route will be enjoyed by thousands of visitors to next year’s Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“The new partnership with the Wildlife Trust is one of the many ways in which UK Power Networks looks after the environment.”
During the project, seven employees from the energy company cleared scrub, made and put up bird and bat boxes and created habitats for wildlife.
