A man was seriously injured after a road accident involving a car in East Ham yesterday.
Police and paramedics were called to High Street North at the junction with Plashet Grove just after 4.30pm.
There, they treated a 30-year-old man with head and facial injuries before he was taken by ambulance as a priority to The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel.
The area was closed to motorists for more than two hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Police said the pedestrian’s injuries were initially thought to be life threatening but his condition improved.
