Newham firefighters are looking for brave volunteers willing to abseil to help raise vital funds for their charity.
The sponsored abseil takes place on September 9 at The Queens Stand at Epsom Racecourse. Its great for courageous participants who want to take the plunge and drop over the abyss, then abseil down to the bottom. The experience promises to be thrilling for both adrenalin junkies and more land-loving types.
It is being organised by the Fire Fighters Charity, the UK’s leading provider of life-enhancing services for the fire and rescue community.
If you are over 18, have no serious medical conditions and are seeking a thrill then this could be the challenge for you.
There is a 10 registration fee and you only need to raise a minimum of 90 sponsorship. All participants will receive a certificate to prove they did indeed take the challenge, while those that successfully raise over 200 will receive a special award and those who sign up 10 people with sponsorship can abseil for free.
