Words, words, words were the topic of an evening hosted in a pop-up shop in Stratford on the hottest evening of the year.
Poets battled it out to be crowned Champion Wordsmith at Poems of Pace Poetry Slam held at the East Village store in Westfield Stratford City.
A select group of around 30 literary lovers gathered in the temporary venue which was hosted by Tom Mansfield, commissioned by E20 East Village, and Hackney resident Sam Berkson.
Jah Mirl, Poet Curious, Dean McKee, and Rik the Most waxed lyrical about London life for the audiences’ scores until Rik was crowned the winner after two rounds.
