Emergency services were called to Forest Gate train station last night after a man was hit by a train.
The man, a 52-year-old, thought to be from Newham, was pronounced dead at the scene by medics from the London Ambulance Service.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said his family had been informed and a file would be prepared for the Coroner. He said the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
Transport officers were called to Forest Gate rail station just before 8pm last night to reports that a man had been struck by a train.
