Fake facial hair helped students at St Bonaventure’s to raise money for the Philippines disaster fund.
The school’s CAFOD group were inspired to sell false moustaches in a variety of colours and styles after several teachers grew real ones for Movember.
Some of the boys even designed their own, and the effort raised more than £125 for the appeal.
Joanne McKeever, a teacher at the Boleyn Road school, organised the day.
She said: “Many teachers and other staff joined in with some amazing moustaches.
“Everyone agreed it was a novel, if not itchy, way to raise funds for such a worthwhile cause that was close to all our hearts.”
