If you like to shout about your tomatoes or marrows, head to Newham City Farm which will be holding its first ever community harvest festival.

The farm in Stansfeld Road, Beckton which is run by the charity Community Links, says anyone can enter the competition on Sunday September 7.

In addition to the competition which will run from 12 noon until 4pm, there will be activities for children including drama, song and the chance to dress up as a scarecrow. Souvenirs and refreshments will also be available as well as animal demonstrations, arts and crafts, small animal handling and face painting.

Categories include most unusual growing container, most unusual looking fruit or vegetable, largest pumpkin and best display from a home grower which can include photos, flowers or other materials from your garden.
