More than 300 fundraisers will be trying to break a world record for the largest number of people dressed as penguins tomorrow as they raise cash for a children’s hospice.
They will be gathering at the Scoop, next to City Hall from 6.45pm with a count at 7.45pm to break their own official Guinness World Record for the event.
After their attempt, the fundraisers will take on a 2km ‘Penguin Waddle’ around a specially designated route to raise money for Richard House Children’s Hospice.
BBC Ground Force star and Richard House patron Tommy Walsh will be hosting the evening and Guinness World Record officials will be on hand to verify the record.
The charity is hoping to raise £30,000 through the penguins’ efforts for the Beckton-based hospice which supports families in London whose children and young adults are at risk of death from a life-limiting health condition.
